| 19. “Wolves and coyotes are both members of the dog family,” explains Mike Jones. “Both are predators , which means they eat other smaller animals, and probably explains why you kids were all so scared. They howl to communicate with each other from different parts of the woods.” |

20. “They howl a lot during mating season in February and March when they’re looking for a mate, whom they’ll keep for life. The coyote is smaller than the wolf, about half the size,” Mike explains. |
