Animal Handler: They were trying to chase it away, because many larger birds will eat smaller birds. Birds will gang up on a snake in the same way. |

Animal Handler: That behavior is called dusting. Some birds do that as well as bathing with water, it seems to help keep their feathers in good shape. You might see one of our wild turkeys dusting, or a sparrow, over at the farm. Unfortunately, we have a lot of house sparrows. |
