Tiffany: “You don’t like them?"
Animal Handler: “House sparrows are fine in Europe, where they’re native. But because people released them here in North America over a hundred years ago, they are competing with native birds for food and shelter, as well as causing trouble for farmers.”
Wanda: “We feed birds; we put up a hummingbird feeder, too.”
Animal Handler: “Great! Hummingbirds are fascinating, so small and so fast. Would you like to see a hummingbird nest? I can show you one in the Discovery Center.”
