Grandma: In the 1950s, Rev. Steele and other ministers in Tallahassee organized the Inter Civic Council. The council did a lot to help integrate. It sure was hard times. Black churches played a big role in changing things for the better. |

Wanda: Look at this awesome chair! It looks like a throne.
Grandma: Thats where the minister would sit, then the choir behind him, and the congregation would fill up these pews. Right up front are the benches for the church mothers and deacons. I can just see it. |
